Pokemon Life Lesson: There will always be someone better than you; but there will always be someone worse - you can only do you.
Thanks very much to the wonderfully talented :iconzennore: for her help with the designs and other flashy details. Some of her other work:

There are more posters!
Pokemon Life Lessons Series

Pokemon copyright Nintendo/Gamefreak/The Pokemon Company International, apparently.

Edit: This one doesn't use any copyright pixels so it ought to be okay to sell, though it's more of a poster than a shirt. [link]

If it weren't for Gen6, I'd totally say, "Unless you're Ghost/Dark. Then you win." :P

Could I get a version of this without "And that's okay." please? This is the best motivational poster I've seen yet, but too much motivation turns me away from things, haha.

I could, if you're sure. The original in my head was like that, but I got a lot of feedback that it wasn't motivational at all, it just made people sad to think they would never be the best. I thought it was silly but some people can't live without the hope of the being the best, I suppose. Personally I think achieving your personal goals is better than comparing yourself, but who am I!

I'd like an alternate version, yeah. Just a link in the description to a scrap piece or something, haha.
Keep in mind that for every person who likes really motivational things ("And that's okay."), others just like thinking.
If the picture ends with the rock-paper-scissors effect, it leaves room for the viewer to just stare and think. I could think about my friends, who I hold higher than myself, or my enemies, who are below me. I could think about English, which I'm good at, or physical education, which I'm not.
Adding the words "And that's okay" down the bottom just sort of seals it. It says to me "and that's all there is to it, don't bother thinking".
I used to be a hobbyist writer, but while I don't write anymore, I do still like making people think. Leaving open ends like that is something that allows creativity to flow.

tl;dr yeah I'm sure, ahaha.

Sorry it took so long :) It was a pretty simple change, even with all the smaller elements below. Sometimes art projects just slip away from you, ya know?

Yeah, that's cool; you did it faster than a lot of art projects people ask of me, haha. Thanks!

Hehe, yeah it's a general problem affecting most of DA (and probably the whole world's art community) that they don't work particularly fast. In my other line of work I have to get things done right away, so I always feel like I'm slacking and letting people down when I work at art-speed!
